Has Lorna really murdered someone?
Who was the person whom Lorna thinks she had killed?
Will Mike be able to find out the truth?
Major Characters:

Sandbar by A J Pompano is short story featuring Mike St Martin.

Although the  story was short but it was a decent read. The characters are interesting and story is able to hold your interest till the end. I enjoyed reading it.

Sandbar also serves as an introduction to Mike’s character.  Mike used to work as a detective in LA but had to move back.

After reading this story, I want to know more about him. I want to  read about the case in Los Angeles which forced him to move back. And i would like to know how does his life turns out to be after he has moved back to his home town.

At the end of the story Mike takes a decision to stay mum about something. And in doing so, he turns a blind eye towards a murder that was going to happen. His decision of doing so may have been  morally right but in eyes of law it would have been wrong. This shows he’s follows his own moral code of conduct and thus would take decisions which are not always right in they eyes of the law.

I have always liked reading about grey characters and so i’m sure i’m going to like Mike St Martin.

I would definitely like to read a full fledged novel featuring him.

So,If you are looking for a short enjoyable mystery to read then i think you’d not go wrong with Sandbar.
