Daksh is a Yamdoot. He was there to guard the gates of Narak. But then he fell in love. And Yamdoots are not supposed to do that.
He opened the gates so that his lover could escape from Narak. But then all hell broke loose. Seeing the opportunity a lot of sinners escaped from the hell and returned to earth to do what they were best in doing. They all have got hell flesh now which gives them more power than a normal human. The greater the sinner the more powerful he became. And they don’t want to come back to hell again.
When Yamraj finds about it, Daksh is held responsible. He throws Daksh to earth and orders him to bring back all the sinners.
And Yamraj has decreed that till he desn’t brings back the whole souls that have escaped his lover would be tortured daily.
Will he be able to do the required task?

Daksh is one of the few Indian graphic novels out there which are written for mature audience. So my rating is:

Story : 3.5/5

When i was reading the story i felt at times that a lot was happening too fast. I know Daksh had to finish the job in record time but it felt a little rushed. I felt if the story could have been a little bit slow then the time would have been used in developing Bijula godse. Her little backstory could have been given assigned some panels instead of just a line. And the other gripe of mine regarding it was the end. It was confusing. We are not shown what happened next? Whether he was able to rescue his loved one? What happened to his partner? There were a lot of questions that were left unanswered which i hope would be answered soon?

The art work is dark and gritty but for me the indian characters didn’t look enough Indian. I don’t know what was missing but neither Bijula Godse, nor the other characters felt like they were Indian. Here i’m not saying because of the cloths that they wore but because of the way they were drawn. It may be me only. Also, it may be difficult to draw Indian looking characters but such problem was not seen in they way Caucasian characters were drawn.Japanese characters too looked a little off.

In the end i would it was a good attempt and i hope level ten will produce more such graphic novels for mature audience.
