In a relentlessly chic and tranquil tea shop on the lower east side, I sat sipping gunpowder green and trying to figure out what my new client was up to.

Contemporary Chinese art has a big market. And the name Chau Chun aka Chau ‘Gwai Ying Shung’ – Ghost hero Chau is one of the bigger artists that fetches huge prices. But Ghost Hero has been dead for the past 20 years.

But now rumour is floating that new work by Ghost hero has been surfaced. As most of his earlier works are with collectors, this could mean a huge thing. But there is also a possibility that these works may be fake or rumour must be just that, a rumour.

So when Lydia Chin is approached for finding more about the paintings, she’s at first perplexed. The client thinks as she’s of Chinese descent so she would be able to go to place where normal white people wouldn’t be allowed.
Although the reasoning seems flawed Lydia takes up the case and soon finds out that her client is not what he says he is.
Now the questions are:

Do the paintings really exist? If yes then is the artist who was supposed to be dead still alive? Why did the client lied to Lyida about himself? And was she supposed to believe such flimsy excuse given to her for giving her the case?
There are many questions that Lydia will have to face and finding answers to some of them may be fatal.

Ghost Hero is the 11th novel in the Lydia chin and Bill smith series. I really loved reading this book.

It was a page turner and kept me hooked till the end.

I liked the way the author had shown the Chinese community. I found the idiosyncrasies shown similar to ours so I could relate to most of the things. It felt like Lydia was one of us. It really helped me connect with her and made me want to know more about her.

I can say that this book has aroused my interest in the whole series. I want to know how the partnership between Bill and Lydia got formed. They were so different from each other.

So I think I would be looking forward to reading the other books in it.

The only thing that i didn’t like about it was that since it’s the 11th one in the series so i’ll have to add another ten books in my tbr. Man that’s adding a lot of books to the pile.

The book is intriguing and if you are into detective fiction then you should definitely give it a try. I enjoyed it and i know you’d too.
